Are HS Diplomas Preparing Graduates for Their Future?

Although high school graduation rates may be at an all-time high, researchers are saying that the value of a high school diploma is at an all-time low. When measured against factors such as income, college preparedness, jobless rates, and employer confidence, merely having a high school diploma just isn’t cutting it anymore. The most concerning factors from the research show that even when students are graduating high school, they are rarely ready to take on college level coursework and they have little confidence from employers about being ready to take on a workload.
